Human trafficking: MOdern -day slavery.
THE PROBLEM.
All over the world, in developing countries and third world countries, human trafficking is present - no one is exempt. Human trafficking violates the natural rights of human beings through commercial exploitation, trade, coercion, and harm all over the globe in almost every country. One cannot even bring themselves to imagine the life of the average slave unless they were in their shoes themselves; a life where many are enduring constant suffering and fear without the help of their communities or governments. Because the topic of human trafficking is so sensitive due to the horrible circumstances usually accompanied by it, many do not address this escalating issue. With a profit of a whopping $32 billion in 2010 in human trafficking alone, it is evident that this problem is exponentially growing and must be stopped or prevented in some way. As many slaves are brutally tortured, sexually exploited, and killed on a daily basis, it is imperative that we raise awareness and make efforts to quintessentially bring human trafficking to an end.
